Mallory Wilkins, M.S., CCC-SLP

Mallory has a passion for providing excellent, personalized care for her patients and families, sharing her knowledge, pursuing new research, and problem solving. She lives in Seattle, WA and is the CEO of Umbrella Speech Therapy, LLC. She is a member of the American Speech and Hearing Association (ASHA) and holds state licensure in both Alaska and Washington State. She is a lover of the outdoors, as all good Seattle-ites are, and enjoys reading, backpacking, hiking, snowboarding, fly fishing, biking, and going on adventures with Benji. She loves experiences and loves making therapy fun, engaging, and memorable for her patients as well as the families she works with. Mallory believes in her families’ involvement in therapy as the defining characteristic of success in a patient’s progress.

EDUCATION:

  • Master of Science in Communication Sciences and Disorders from Abilene Christian University (May 2017)

  • Bachelor of Science in Communication Sciences and Disorders from Abilene Christian University (May 2015)

CONCENTRATIONS:

  • Specialization in Alternative and Augmentative Communication (AAC)

  • Delays/disorders such as (but not limited to): expressive, receptive, and social language, motor speech (such as articulation, phonology, apraxia, and dysarthria), cognition, fluency, and early childhood intervention. Mallory has experience with a variety of diagnoses such as Autism Spectrum Disorder, Trisomy 21, Developmental Delays, Traumatic Brain Injuries, and Cerebral Palsy in addition to a variety of various syndromes and genetic conditions.

EXPERIENCE: Currently working full-time in private practice. Past experience includes outpatient rehab clinic at Seattle Children’s Hospital specializing in AAC, in schools (PK-12, as well as self-contained classrooms), and private outpatient clinics.

FRISBEE ENTHUSIAST & RESIDENT FLUFF BALL

Benji, just Benji.

Benji is 7 years old, but has the heart of an 85 year old sweet old man. He lives for frisbee and pets, loves to play, sleep, and go on adventures. He is a Miniature Australian Shepherd. He holds the Canine Good Citizen award and is also registered through Pet Partners, a nationally recognized volunteer agency providing animal-assisted therapy in various settings such as schools, hospitals, and nursing homes. DISCLAIMER: Benji is not a service animal. A service animal is an animal trained for a specific purpose for one person. A therapy animal is a trained animal that can be used as a tool during intervention for the purposes of motivation, emotional regulation, and as an engaging activity. Benji is a therapy animal and LOVES to love and play. Families are welcome to accept or decline Benji has an optional therapy tool.
